Over the summer months The Priory Rooms were busy fundraising for two of the charities that regularly use the venue. The Priory Rooms is a not-for-profit Quaker led meeting and conference centre, and as well as giving back to the community being congruent with Quaker values, these events gave the business the opportunity to give back to some of their regular not-for-profit customers.
We are delighted to be seeking a dynamic, proactive self-starter for the role of Business Development Manager at Woodbrooke. The role is a new one that sits within the newly-formed Business Generation team, an exciting development and step forward for Woodbrooke in its drive to meet its charitable and commercial objectives.
We are looking for a Business Development Manager who will proactively sell meeting room space at the Priory Rooms to existing and new business. The post holder will need to successfully locate and develop new business to achieve set targets. The successful candidate would be an ambitious self-starter with a proven achievement in sales.
Overall responsibility for delivering event catering for bookings taking place in and around the venue. Responsible for the preparation, delivery and clearing down of all refreshments in the meeting room areas.
Cover Reception and Sales office as and when required. Main responsibilities to include answering telephone calls, taking messages, directing clients, taking booking enquiries, payments etc.

Birmingham-based Mental Health charity BITA Pathways are delighted to announce they are supplying an exclusive range of cushions to the new flagship John Lewis store in Birmingham City Centre. The cushions are based on the artwork of BITA service user Jason Clarke, a well-respected artist who uses art to manage the symptoms of his Bipolar Disorder. The cushions, manufactured by BITA’s very own soft-furnishing Social Enterprise, Textiles by St Anne’s, will be on the shelves and available to the public at the new store in Grand Central, Birmingham, from 24th September.
Woodbrooke has been awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence again this year. It is the third year in a row for Woodbrooke.

BVSC today launched its new ‘BVSC Conferences’ website which includes full details of the conference facilities and event management services available at the organisation’s Centre for Voluntary Action headquarters which is situated close to The Bullring at 138 Digbeth.

The Priory Rooms, in Birmingham city centre, are committed to sustainable and eco-friendly business policies. Their remarkable repertoire of initiatives includes recycling paper, card and plastic, providing delegates with bio-degradable doggy boxes; serving “meat-Free Monday” lunch buffets; “toilet twinning” to donate latrines across Africa; using harvested rain water to flush the toilets; and most recently decomposing their food waste! These highly-commendable eco-conscious efforts have been praised with an impressive Gold Award by their recycling contractors First Mile.
This February The Priory Rooms Meeting and Conference Centre and Central England Quakers are celebrating the opening of The Peace Hub with a special all-day launch event; the latest project supported by The Priory Rooms a not-for-profit Birmingham conference venue.
